2022 Bruno Giacosa Nebbiolo d’Alba Casa Vinicola

Bruno Giacosa’s Nebbiolo comes from the south-facing slopes of vineyards in Monteu Roero, Santo Stefano Roero, and Vezza d’Alba, where the 27-33-year-old vines thrive in sandy soils at 270 meters above sea level. This wine showcases Bruno Giacosa’s mastery in selecting and vinifying exceptional fruit.

The 2022 vintage was carefully crafted, with fermentation and maceration taking place over 20 days in stainless steel vats, followed by complete malolactic fermentation. The wine was refined for 14 months in French oak barrels, adding depth and complexity.

On the nose, the Nebbiolo d’Alba is beautifully lifted, with high-toned red floral aromas, complemented by dried herbs, spearmint, and a hint of black olive. The palate is compact and lithe, with brooding dark fruit, dark chocolate, and firm mineral tannins. Lovely tight structure and vibrant acidity adds to the wine’s depth and complexity.
