2022 Jean-Marie Fourrier Vigne Comte de Chapelle Volnay Village

Fourrier’s Volnay under the Vigne Comte de Chappelle label is everything you’d hope for from this part of the Côte de Beaune - fragrant, finely structured and full of quiet charm. The fruit comes from carefully sourced village sites and is handled with the same restraint and precision that defines Fourrier’s Gevrey reds.

Fermentation is with indigenous yeasts, no sulphur is added during vinification, and élevage takes place in mostly used oak. The 2022 is a particularly graceful expression - lifted red fruit, gentle spice, and fine, powdery tannins that carry the wine through a long, pure finish. Nothing pushed, nothing flashy - just clean, expressive Pinot that speaks clearly of place.

This is a great chance to see what a grower like Fourrier can do with Côte de Beaune fruit - elegant, balanced, and very easy to drink.
