2022 Stift Goettweig Gruner Veltliner Messwein

The Goettweig Messwein, or altar wine, has been an institution from this Benedictine monastery for centuries. It can only be produced with permission from the bishop, and is required to be naturally produced without alterations.

With its lowish alcohol, Messwein is a very light wine. Dry, fruity and light with classic, though subtle, Gruner spice. Fresh and elegant on the palate, it is expressive, with good length.
