2022 Stonier Chardonnay
Stonier has been making Chardonnay in the Mornington Peninsula since 1978, and their 2022 release sticks to what they do best—cool-climate fruit, thoughtful winemaking, and a focus on balance.
Sourced from vineyards on the southern side of the Peninsula, the fruit was hand-picked, whole-bunch pressed, and fermented in 500L French oak puncheons (10% new). A bit of time on lees and partial malolactic fermentation give it some texture, but it still stays fresh and lively.
A tricky spring led to smaller crops in 2022, but a mild, dry summer meant the fruit ripened evenly, producing a Chardonnay with great structure and plenty of life ahead of it.
A classic Mornington Chardonnay—refined, drinkable, and made with a light touch.

"Stone fruit, melon, citrus, aniseed, with gentle spicy oak and a creamy vanilla top note. It’s medium-bodied, has juicy flavour, but also some lemon zest and grapefruit tang, no shortage of acidity to balance richness, some vanilla wafer sweetness, with a juicy citrus (lime) finish of excellent length. It’s a goer. I like it."
