2023 Josep Grau Volador Tinto

Josep Grau makes this red from organically grown vineyards in Montsant, just outside Priorat. The vines sit high in the hills on stony soils, and the focus is always on fruit quality rather than cellar tricks. It’s mostly Garnacha with some Syrah, hand-picked and fermented naturally in concrete before a short rest in old oak.

The result is a medium-bodied red that’s fresh, bright and full of life. There’s red and black fruit, a bit of spice, and that dry, herbal edge that feels very southern Spain. It’s clean and balanced, the kind of wine you can drink happily on its own or throw on the table with just about anything.

A lovely all-rounder of a red and excellent value. Big tick from us!
