2023 Margan White Label Shiraz

The Margan White Label range is where Andrew and Ollie Margan really start to open their shoulders and show just how far this much-loved Hunter Valley estate has come in recent years.  Sourced from sustainably managed old vines on ancient volcanic red clay, this Shiraz focuses purely on a contemporary, light-footed expression of Hunter fruit that punches well above its price tag.

The 2023 growing season delivered ideal conditions, offering pristine fruit with great aromatic purity and bright natural acidity. The winemaking team included a portion of whole bunches during fermentation to introduce a lively, spicy character, with maturation in older, large-format oak casks letting the vibrant primary fruit take center stage.

The nose is really open and expressive, showing dark cherry, wild blackberry, black pepper, and a fragrant lift of purple flowers. On the palate, it feels supple and medium-bodied, balancing its juicy core of dark berry flavour with fine tannins and a crunchy, refreshing finish.

A delightful, approachable Hunter Shiraz that swaps heavy, old-school weight for high-energy drinkability and exceptional everyday value.
