Montepulciano is an Italian grape that is slowly and thankfully growing in popularity in Australia. Mercer's iteration of it is a nod to its European forebears with its lovely dark fruits and chocolate tones, with some savoury herbs adding some complexity.

On the palate, it's all about energy and flavour, with the fruitiness singing alongside the acidity, while the tannins are not overpowering but finely integrated.
