Poppelvej’s Blue Rose Case is Cinsault done the laid-back, natural way. Fruit from McLaren Vale’s Lennon Vineyard gets a hands-on treatment - 25% of the grapes are pressed straight after picking, while the rest are hand-destemmed and left to wild ferment for 12 days. After that, it’s aged in neutral large-format oak, keeping the focus firmly on the fruit.

It’s light, bright, and packed with flavour. Think red cherry, pomegranate, and strawberry, with a flicker of white pepper and a savoury, almost salty finish. The tannins are fine and just grippy enough to give it shape without weighing it down. It’s the kind of wine that feels easygoing but has a bit of bite, perfect for sharing over a casual meal.
