2024 Anne & Jean-Francois Ganevat La Croix de Batailles

"The Cross of Battles" is a dramatic name for a wine that drinks like it has nothing to prove. That's kind of the point.

This is a Pinot Noir blended from two sources: Alsace and the Jura. Two different terroirs, same natural approach, semi-carbonic maceration, large old oak, no additions.

Where the Colline des Dames leans floral and silky, this one has a little more texture and spice to it. Cherry, strawberry, a hint of pepper, the kind of freshness that makes you reach for a second glass before you've finished the first.

Bright, fluid, built to be drunk rather than contemplated.
