2024 BK Swaby Chardonnay

Swaby is one of those wines that really shows what BK is about. We recently sat down and tasted every vintage with Brendan, and it was clear that this single-vineyard Chardonnay has been the quiet backbone of his range for years. The site sits high in the Adelaide Hills, producing fruit that always has great intensity and a clean line of acidity, and Brendan’s touch in the winery keeps it honest and expressive.

The 2024 was hand-picked, wild fermented, and aged in French oak – with a bit of new oak for structure but never so much that it takes over. Lees time adds some weight and texture, but the fruit is the hero here. It’s a wine that’s fresh and layered, and while it’ll age well, it’s also pretty irresistible now.

This isn’t a showy Chardonnay, but it's full of intrigue and personality – the kind that keeps you going back for another glass.
