2024 Brokenwood Chardonnay

Chardonnay might not get the same spotlight at Brokenwood as their famous Semillon or Graveyard Shiraz, but this release shows just how good they are at it.

The 2024 comes mainly from the cool-climate Indigo Vineyard down in Beechworth, where a tough season kept yields low but delivered fruit with heaps of flavour.  The remainder a blend of Yarra Valley and of course Hunter Valley fruit.

Winemaking is kept simple and smart – mostly barrel ferment with just a touch of new oak and a bit in stainless to keep things fresh. The style is all about brightness and drinkability, with the oak there in the background adding a little polish without getting in the way.

The end result is a Chardonnay that’s crisp, balanced and quietly classy, with more than enough character for the dinner table but still easy to enjoy on a Tuesday night. Super value.
