2024 Domaine Seguinot-Bordet Petit Chablis

This Petit Chablis is sourced from estate vineyards on the Right Bank of the Serein River. The south and south-east facing slopes here are crucial, ensuring the fruit achieves full ripeness even in cooler years.

Jean-François keeps the winemaking clean with cool fermentations, but adds a layer of texture by ageing the wine on lees for 3-5 months. It is a small detail that makes a big difference, giving the wine a subtle creamy mouthfeel that balances the natural acidity.

The 2024 is a classic example of the style. It offers a nose of crisp green apple, lemon zest and delicate white flowers (verbena). The palate is lively and mineral-driven, with a clean, chalky finish that leaves the mouth watering. It is uncomplicated, joyful drinking.
