2024 Domane Wachau Gruner Veltliner Terrassen Federspiel

The grapes for this wine come from a scatter of steep, hand-worked terraces along the Danube – the kind of vineyards you have to climb rather than stroll through. Growers here have been farming these slopes for generations, and Domäne Wachau brings all those small parcels together under one roof.

The 2024 is pure Grüner Veltliner, picked by hand and kept cool in stainless steel so it stays fresh and lively. Nothing fancy in the winery, just letting the fruit and the sites do the talking.

It’s got that little peppery lift Grüner is known for, plenty of citrus zip, and a clean, stony edge that makes it seriously moreish. Easy enough to crack on a warm afternoon, but with enough shape to carry through a proper meal. Best enjoyed young, when it’s at its brightest.
