2024 Dormilona Chardonnay

Dormilona’s approach to Chardonnay hasn’t changed much over the years - and that’s a good thing. It’s still all wild ferment, no new oak, unfined, unfiltered, no mucking about. Just beautifully-grown fruit from good Margaret River vineyards and a light hand in the winery.

The 2024 comes from a new, slightly warmer site for Jo Perry, but is spot on to the usual Dormilona style, if perhaps with a little more flesh. There’s citrus, stone fruit, a bit of grip through the finish, and this zesty, salty thread that keeps everything tight. It doesn’t try to be overly flashy - it just knows what it is and does it well.

If you’ve had Dormilona Chardy before, this is right in the lane. If you haven’t, and you like your whites with flavour but not flab, it’s well worth a look.
