It sits just east of the winery on deep clay and silt soils, giving wines that are a bit darker, more grounded, and quietly powerful compared to their other blocks.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe 2024 season was warm and dry with cool nights – perfect for slow, even ripening. The fruit was hand-picked, mostly destemmed with a bit of whole bunch, and fermented with wild yeast before ageing in French oak, about 20% new. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe wine shows dark cherry and plum, a little spice and earth, and that firm, chalky texture Calvert always seems to give.
