2024 Ngeringa Sheoak Chardonnay
Ngeringa has been farming biodynamically in the Adelaide Hills for years, well before it became a buzzword. The Sheoak Label Chardonnay brings together fruit from their Summit Vineyard and a few trusted organic growers across the region, all chosen for freshness and balance.
The grapes were hand-picked, whole-bunch pressed and fermented with wild yeast in French oak, around 30% new. It spent nine months on lees without stirring before bottling – no fining, no unnecessary extras, just a small touch of sulphur to keep it stable.
The wine walks a neat line between flavour and restraint. There’s stone fruit, citrus and a bit of nutty oak, kept tight by clean acidity. A lovely, medium-bodied Adelaide Hills Chardonnay from this ever-impressive operation.
