2024 Torzi Matthews Frost Dodger Riesling

The Frost Dodger has built a bit of a cult following for good reason - it’s top-shelf Eden Valley Riesling without the price tag stress. Made by Dom Torzi and Tracy Matthews from two dry-grown vineyards planted as far back as 1930, the 2024 vintage is right in the pocket: bright, clean and quietly detailed.

Grapes were whole-bunch pressed and the free-run juice was wild fermented cold and slow, with a year on lees to build in weight and texture. No oak, no additions, just a low-intervention approach that lets the vineyard speak.

This vintage has that classic Eden feel - citrus and white flowers up front, with a bit more flesh and savoury edge than you might expect. It’s crisp and dry, with plenty of drive, but it’s the texture that really makes it - layered and long, without losing focus.

Drinks well now, but it’s got the bones to age if you can be bothered. Unbeatable value, smart winemaking, and all class.
