2025 Aphelion Welkin Falanghina

Falanghina might not be a household name, but Rob Mac’s version makes a strong case for why it should be.

The fruit here comes from a single site in Blewitt Springs, picked early for freshness, then whole-bunch pressed and wild fermented in a mix of concrete eggs and old oak.

It’s clean and lively, with citrus oil, pear skin and a hint of fennel. There’s a subtle grip through the palate, just enough to give shape, and the finish has that salty snap that makes you reach straight back for another sip.

We’ve always thought Rob’s Welkin range delivers some of the best value 'alternative' wines in the country, and this is another belter.
