2025 Mount Horrocks Watervale Riesling

Mount Horrocks has been working this Watervale site organically for years now, and it’s become one of the most dependable sources of top tier Riesling in the Clare.

The 2025 season gave Stephanie Toole exactly what she wants for this style - dry, even weather, cool nights and fruit that held its acidity right through to harvest. Picked by hand and kept as simple as possible in the winery, it’s very much a straight expression of the vineyard.

The aromatics sit in a citrus and floral zone, with that faint mineral edge that tends to show up here. The palate is tight and neatly cut, plenty of citrus drive, a bit of pear and apple in the mix, and a crunchy texture that keeps the wine moving.

It’s already drinking beautifully but has all the signs of a long life ahead. Another outstanding release from this cult Clare producer.
