2025 Vignerons Schmolzer & Brown Obstgarten K Riesling

Jeremy Schmolzer and Tessa Brown keep showing just how good they are at finding the sweet spot between precision and drinkability, and this Riesling is a great example. The ‘K’ stands for Kabinett - this is their nod to that classic German style, made with fruit from one of the highest vineyards in Whitlands, King Valley.

It’s off-dry but seriously well balanced, thanks to a bolt of acidity that keeps everything feeling crisp and lively. The fruit was wild-fermented and left pretty much to do its thing, which is very much the Schmolzer & Brown way - minimal fuss, just clean, expressive winemaking.

The 2025 vintage brings all the zip and brightness you’d expect, with enough texture and weight to make it feel complete rather than simple. It’s one of those wines that works across the board - good with food, good on its own, and built to drink well now but with plenty of life ahead if you’re happy to wait.
