Equipo Navazos La Bota 74 Oloroso Montilla

Awesome Oloroso, the style of sherry aged with flor but oxidatively (often outdoors). They carry extra alcohol, and often, but not always, some sweetness.

This exceptional sherry is from a solera that dates back some thirty years, housed at Perez Barquero in Montilla, several hours inland from coastal Jerez and Sanlucar. In fact, it is not officially sherry at all but that's a long story.

Rich and decadent but not over sweet, this is about as good as Oloroso can get, with fresh and dried fruits, walnut oil, coffee and insane intensity.

We list it as fortified - but in fact it is not! It's 21% alcohol is all achieved naturally, through grape ripeness and evaporation.
