NV Heaps Good Wine Co. Red

Instant weird wine love. Maybe ten grape varieties, some red, some white and multiple vintages go into this bawdy, brisk red wine made by kiwi Nick Gee at his family winery in Slovenia.

It's on the light side of medium in terms of body weight, but on the full side of flavoursome, as peppery, red berry and herbal notes leap up the nose.

The palate is zingy and light-footed, with some skinsy phenolic bitterness the support structure rather than tannin.
