NV Toro Albala Electrico Fino En Rama Bombilla

One of the top producers of dessert PX also makes this fantastic dry Fino, bottled in a stunning bespoke bottle shaped like a giant light bulb. 'En Rama' literally means on the branch but the meaning here is 'on the vine', indicating it is as raw or fresh as possible with minimal filtering and fining. 'Bombilla' is light bulb!

The grape is Pedro Ximenez (PX) which to the shock of many does not just make super sweet dessert wines but is a white grape with naturally high acidity, particularly when sourced from the best chalky vineyard sites. This is also unfortified, as sugar levels are naturally high enough to make fortification unnecessary.

Perfect aperitif wine, with a briny Fino tang of course, and some flor-derived nuttiness, but with the vinous mouthfeel of a good dry wine.
