2016 Frédéric Mabileau ‘Rouillères’ Cabernet Franc Saint-Nic

Inspired by the achievements of his father, Frédéric Mabileau started his personal label in 1988 when he planted his first vines on his wife Nathalie's property known as 'Rouillères'.

Frédéric's family history in winemaking and viticulture harks back to 1620, but with Nathalie by his side, he set out to forge his own reputation. Today his wines are considered benchmarks of quality for the Loire. Organically farmed and crafted with a light touch in the winery, these are wonderfully expressive Cabernet Francs and Chenin Blancs that are utterly compelling to drink.

This, their ‘Rouillères’, is the most sought-after of their range and is perhaps the most representative example of their style of Cabernet Franc. It's lively, just on the lighter side of medium-bodied, and flat out delicious to drink.

This is a charming contemporary example of Franc from the Loire.
