2020 McArthur Ridge Grand Reserve Pinot Noir

McArthur Ridge has built its reputation on precise, powerful Pinots from Alexandra’s rugged hillsides, and the Grand Reserve sits at the top of that lineup. It’s made from the best parcels across the estate – low-yielding vines on schist and loess soils that give depth, spice and structure.

The 2020 season was long and even, one of those years where everything fell into place. Fruit was hand-picked, wild-fermented in small vats and aged in French oak, with a good portion new, to bring shape and polish.

The wine is dark and concentrated but still balanced – black cherry, plum and savoury spice with fine-grained tannins and a long, dry finish. It’s built to age but already shows the poise and definition that have made McArthur Ridge a standout in Alexandra.
