2021 Rall Syrah

This is a new addition to the range for Donovan Rall, and it comes from shallow-rooted vines planted over schist soils in Swartland.

The grapes ferment in concrete, which keeps the fruit at centre stage, while the 50% whole bunch component lends lifted and seductive aromatics.

Deep and broody, yet not overly heavy in any way, it's just packed with flavour. Blackberries, spice and perfect balance. A winning South African red.

"This comes from the early-picked fruit and matured in concrete only. The bouquet is very endearing with raspberry, wild strawberry and a very slight confit-like scent. The palate is very harmonious with fine grip, a little tertiary in style, beautifully proportioned and elegant on the finish. Outstanding."
