2021 Vinuva Nero d'Avola

Nero d'Avola is one of Sicily's greatest home-grown grapes - it means black grapes from Avola, though there aren't many grapes in Avola. It is a port town through which a lot of wine was historically exported.

Nero is a thick-skinned grape that makes wines of dark intensity, full of liqueur chocolate and dried fruits. It can be very heavy but the Vinuva expression is slightly on the lighter, more measured side of the ledger.
