The 2022 Architects of Wine Vino Rosso is the perfect introduction to David Caporaletti’s innovative approach to winemaking, and more importantly your perfect midweek Italian-inspired red!

What began as a backyard hobby for this architect-turned-winemaker has evolved into a serious wine project known for its unique, small-batch releases drawing inspiration from Italy and beyond. David’s method is all about letting the fruit speak for itself, with minimal intervention and a focus on textural, restrained wines that reflect the true character of their vineyards.

This Vino Rosso is a blend of 55% Lambrusco Maestri and 45% Shiraz, sourced from Uraidla and Sellick’s Hill in South Australia. The grapes were destemmed and underwent extended maceration—40 days for the Lambrusco and 28 days for the Shiraz—before spending 15 months in neutral French oak. 

The 2022 Vino Rosso is as intriguing as it is gluggable, full of juicy dark fruits underpinned by a savoury backbone. Easy to love and great value.
