2022 Domaine Henri Germain Meursault

This is not your average village Meursault. Jean-François and Lucie Germain source fruit from no fewer than eight prized lieux-dits, including Clos du Cromin, Les Pellans, Les Vireuils, Dressoles, and the newly added Les Corbins - with some vines dating back to 1929. The average vine age now sits north of 50 years, and it shows.

Each parcel adds something distinct: Cromin brings depth, Vireuils sharpens the line, Pellans adds lift, and Corbins lends a rocky mineral punch. The result is a layered, opulent Meursault with all the classic hallmarks - hazelnut, citrus curd, and buttery texture - pulled into focus by pristine acidity and a mineral core.

It’s officially a village wine, but the depth, pedigree and detail here put it on par with many lesser 1er Crus. A superb value and a textbook Germain expression.
