2022 Four Winds Shiraz

Four Winds Vineyard is a small, family-run winery in Murrumbateman, right in the heart of the Canberra District. They keep things simple and focused, and Shiraz has always been their standout variety.

The 2023 vintage really put them on the map, taking out the Jimmy Watson Trophy - one of the most coveted awards in Australian wine. It’s a huge achievement for a tiny team and another sign of just how far Canberra Shiraz has come.

This wine comes from the previous 2022 vintage, but is another lovely drop with a couple of Trophies itself.  It's bright and medium-bodied, all juicy dark fruits and that peppery spice that’s so typical of the region. Oak is handled with a light touch, letting freshness and vibrancy lead the way. It’s not trying to be big and heavy, just beautifully balanced and deeply drinkable.

A lovely, versatile mid-weight Shiraz and terrific value.
