2023 Konpira Maru Pan Opticon Riesling Pinot Gris

The name Panopticon (the all seeing eye), was inspired by a visit to Dublin's Kilmainham Gaol — a symbol of Ireland's fight for independence — Which made the KM boys reflect on the timeless struggle for freedom and hence forth create this free-wheeling blend.

Blended from Riesling, Pinot Gris, and Gewurztraminer grapes grown on the Merkel Vineyard, perched in the scenic ridges leading to Mount Bellevue in Whitlands, this wine offers a wild kaleidoscope of aromatics and flavours.

Tropical acidity first and foremost, featuring notes of dried apple, pineapple, and hints of paw paw and apricot. It's fruity and frivolous - not unlike it's makers, really...
