2023 Les Fruits Tullah Grenache

This is a prime example of why the wine world obsesses over Blewitt Springs sand. These 70-year-old vines produce fruit with a very specific DNA: a mix of coastal freshness and deep concentration. Tim Stock treats this old-vine material with a "lightness of extraction" philosophy, meaning he isn't trying to squeeze every bit of pigment out of the skins. Instead, he’s chasing perfume and grit.

The wine spent nine months resting on fine lees in old oak followed by a stint in tank to settle. By using a heavy proportion of whole bunches, Tim has pulled out a savoury, saltbush character that sits alongside bright raspberry and cocoa notes. It’s a game of contrasts - pale and pretty in the glass, but carrying a surprisingly serious tannic backbone and a distinct mineral salinity.

The palate is juicy and mouth-watering, driven by the trademark Blewitt Springs acidity. It’s less about heavy "jammy" fruit and more about "darkness and light," balancing sweet spice with a salty, savoury edge. Absolutely delicious and we think Tim's best red in the portfolio.
