2023 Windance Cabernet Merlot

From Windance’s biodynamically farmed vineyard in Yallingup, it’s a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Malbec that punches well above its weight. The 2023 vintage follows hot on the heels of a string of trophy wins, and it’s another pitch-perfect release from Billie and Tyke Wheatley.

It’s medium-bodied, plush and fragrant, showing all the regional hallmarks – cassis, mulberry, a flicker of mocha and spice – but what really makes it tick is the balance. Bright acidity, velvety tannins, and a gentle hand in the winery means this feels polished without being overworked. It’s made with the same care and precision you’d expect in wines twice the price, and that shows in every glass.
