2024 Grosset Gaia

Thirty-five vintages deep, the Gaia continues to hold its place among Australia's most important Cabernet blends. The vineyard is now 40 years old, a geologically homogenous site at 560 metres in Clare Valley that Jeffrey Grosset has farmed biodynamically for years.

The 2024 is 84% Cabernet Sauvignon and 16% Cabernet Franc, hand harvested and fermented with indigenous yeasts before 18 months in 45% new French oak barriques. Unfined, and suitable for vegans and vegetarians.

Blackcurrant, dark cherry and bramble on the palate, with fine-grained tannins and excellent length. The structure is built for the cellar, with a 25-year drinking window projected.

We have a classic Gaia on our hands here!  Only 600 cases were made.
