2024 La Violetta Spunk Nat

AJ Hoadley doesn’t like rules, and Spunk Nat is him at his most playful. In 2024 he grabbed Riesling from Frankland River, tossed in a splash of Shiraz from Mount Barker, let them spend a couple of days on skins and then co-fermented the lot. Bottled mid-ferment, it’s pét-nat done the La Violetta way – wild, fizzy and full of character.

It’s bright and juicy with fine bubbles, a little savoury twist from the Shiraz and Riesling’s trademark tang keeping it refreshing. Left undisgorged, you’ll find a bit of haze and sediment, but that’s just part of the fun.

Easygoing, a bit cheeky, and perfect for warm days and good company – it’s the kind of wine that doesn’t hang around once opened.
