2024 Mount Horrocks Semillon

Mount Horrocks has been working with Semillon for a long time now, and you get the sense Stephanie Toole knows exactly where the sweet spot is for this variety in the Clare. The 2024 release comes from another mild, tidy season with good natural acidity and delicious, balanced flavours

The fruit was hand-picked, fermented cool, and treated with the usual restraint with no bells and whistles. The result is a Semillon that’s bright without being as sharp as its Hunter Valley counterparts, wime leaf, a bit of fresh herb and some gentle florals on the nose. The palate has that classic Clare precision, but there’s a softness to the edges too that adds a little texture and a touch of weight.

This is a wine that is built to age, but we like it as an earlier-drinking Semillon option compared to those from NSW.  Deliciously versatile with food too!
