2024 Mount Langi Ghiran Billi Billi Shiraz

For decades, Mount Langi Ghiran has been one of the undisputed heavyweights of cool-climate Shiraz. The 'Billi Billi' is their calling card - a wine designed to deliver that signature spicy, peppery Langi profile without the price tag of the flagship bottlings.

Sourced from a selection of premium cool-climate sites across Victoria, it crucially includes a portion of fruit from the Mount Langi Ghiran estate itself—home to the iconic 'Langi' Shiraz.

The 2024 vintage is being hailed by the team as a classic, arguably the best since 2019. Warm days and cool nights allowed for perfect ripening, delivering a wine that balances generosity with freshness. Winemaking is thoughtful, using whole berries and a mix of large concrete and open-top fermenters to preserve fruit purity. It was matured for 10-12 months in French oak (15% new).

In the glass, it is bright and expressive. Expect a core of red and black cherries, underpinned by notes of mocha and that distinct cool-climate spice. The palate is medium-bodied and supple, with fine tannins framing the fruit. It is everyday Shiraz done right.
