2024 Rockburn Pinot Noir

Rockburn has long been one of Central Otago’s most dependable names for Pinot, and this 2024 release shows them in sharp form. It’s sourced from their Parkburn and Gibbston vineyards, with each site bringing something different to the glass – weight and plushness from the former, tension and spice from the latter.

The fruit’s all hand picked and handled gently – wild ferments, a bit of whole bunch, then aged in mostly older French oak. It’s a style that’s full of character but doesn’t try too hard. There’s depth and polish, sure, but it still drinks like Pinot should – silky, aromatic, and effortlessly drinkable.

One for those who like their Central Otago Pinot with a bit of shape and generosity, without losing its cool-climate frame.
