2025 Bulman Rose
Mark Bulman’s reputation with rosé is well-earned - if you’ve followed his work at Turkey Flat, you’ll know he’s one of the country’s best pair of hands for the style. This 2025 release under his own label is built on a foundation of fruit from 100-year-old vine Grenache in Kalimna and Stockwell, blended with younger Barossa material.
The secret to the texture here is a cheeky splash of Pinot Gris left on skins. Mark told us he uses it for the tannin profile, providing a structural grip you just can't get from other varieties without turning the wine dark red. It’s a clever bit of winemaking that stays under the radar but makes all the difference in the glass.
It pours a rose gold and is absolutely loaded with personality. You get a mix of pink grapefruit, pomegranate, and blood orange, backed by a savoury edge of cut fennel and spice. It’s bone-dry and fresh, with a pithy, detailed finish that trails on for an age. We reckon it’s one of the most complete rosés in the country right now.
