2025 Jauma Fi's Garden Sciacarello

Another innovative and delicious creation here from natural wine icon James Erskine.

Fi is Fiona Wood, who farms this vineyard in Clarendon organically. The block was once dry-grown Shiraz. It's now Sciacarello - a Corsican variety that has no business being in McLaren Vale and fits in perfectly.

Sciacarello is naturally light, aromatic, and high in acidity. Erskine ferments it on skins, then presses to old French puncheons for eleven months with nothing added. What comes out is floral and bright: cranberry, pomegranate, hibiscus, red currant, zingy acidity, 12.5% alcohol.

It's a red wine that drinks more like a white. Serve it slightly chilled and don't overthink it.
