2025 La Petite Mort Albarino

Albariño might just be a natural fit for the Granite Belt. The variety comes from Galicia's Atlantic coast, where saline minerality and fresh acidity are its calling cards - and at 770 metres elevation in Ballandean, it delivers much of the same character.

La Petite Mort's version is small-batch and minimal: no filtering, no fining, nothing added beyond what's needed. 

It's bright and zippy, with fresh green melon, citrus, and a clean saline edge on the finish. It has good fruit weight to it, but certainly isn't heavy. Crisp, dry, and easy to enjoy now, though it'll develop a bit more savoury complexity with a few years in the cellar.
