2025 Stonier Pinot Noir

Stonier is undergoing a massive revival under the guidance of Aaron Drummond and winemaker Julian Grounds, and this release shows exactly why everyone is excited about their new direction. The goal here with the Estate label is a red that delivers real presence and weight without losing its regional identity.  

The flawless 2025 season gave them pristine fruit to play with, and the improvement in the glass is immediately obvious. It skips past simple fruit juice and heads straight into a foresty mix of crushed red berries, damp soil, and warm baking spices.  

The pallet is light-to-medium bodied - supple yet structured. A core of dark bramble fruit and citrus rind is reined in by gritty, savory tannins and a refreshing line of tension that keeps you coming back for another splash.

If you're like us and have somewhat ignored Stonier over recent years during their previous corporate ownership, then it's high time you revisit this wonderful producer. Stunning Pinot value to be had here!

"Buy this, cellar it, drink it. I’ve loved this ‘standard’ Stonier Pinot Noir for decades but I dare say that this is the best release that I’ve tried. Sheesh. It’s complex, it’s cohesive, it’s balanced and it feels authentic, the latter both to its variety and to its region. Mostly and ultimately though it’s more-ish."
