2025 Wickhams Road Yea Chardonnay

If there is a winemaker in Australia delivering better value than Franco D'Anna right now, we haven't found them. The Wickhams Road label is his way of exploring vineyards outside his home turf of Hoddles Creek, and this Chardonnay from Yea is an absolute steal.

The fruit comes from a cool site in Yea that shares a similar climate to the main estate. That natural coolness means Franco doesn't have to mess around with it - there are no acid adds and no fining here. It is just pure, unadulterated Chardonnay made with the exact same care as his premium wines.

Style-wise, this is often a little finer and more delicate than its Yarra Valley and Gippsland cousins. It is linear and chalky, with a racy line of acidity that drives the fruit. It feels precise, refreshing and way more expensive than the price tag suggests.
